Pursuant to the New York Freedom of Information Law, I hereby request the following records:

I request an electronic copy of all logos for FDNY in SVG or EPS vector file format, including the official seal and any insignia or other designs used to outfit apparatus, apparel and other promotional materials.

I also request the digital design files like Illustrator templates and fonts used to create designs.

I also request any style guides, design guides and other documentation or memoes that provide guidance how to design materials on behalf of FDNY.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

PLEASE BE ADVISED that additional time is needed to respond to your request. Factors and circumstances necessitating more time to respond may include, but are not limited to: (1) the number of requests received by the New York City Fire Department (FDNY), (2) the complexity of the request, (3) the ease or difficulty in locating and retrieving records, (4) the volume of records located in response to the request, and (5) the need to review records pursuant to Public Officers Law (POL) § 87(2) to determine the extent to which they must be disclosed. With respect to factor 1, at the time you made your request, numerous other FOIL requests were already pending, many of which involved multiple factors, or all the factors cited above. With respect to factors 2 and 3, collection of records presents a greater complexity than is typical. Accordingly, additional time is necessary to locate and retrieve records responsive to your request. With respect to factor 5, responsive records will be reviewed pursuant to Public Officers Law § 87(2) to determine if any record or portion of records are exempt from disclosure.
