Pursuant to Virginia Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
A copy of the bid submitted in response to Amazon's request for proposals for the site of its second headquarters, any contracts with third-party providers for services rendered regarding the Amazon HQ2 bid, and any marketing budgets regarding Amazon-related expenditures from September 1, 2017 to the date this request is received.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Thank you for your request, which was received by Fairfax County on December 15, 2017. Please be advised that the requested records are exempt from disclosure under Virginia Code § 2.2-3705.1(12), which provides that "[i]nformation relating to the negotiation and award of a specific contract where competition or bargaining is involved and where the release of such information would adversely affect the bargaining position or negotiating strategy of the public body" are "excluded from the mandatory disclosure provisions" of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, Va. Code § 2.2-3700-3714.
