From: Purbita Saha
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
Data on calls for service to the Montclair Police Department, including the date, time, location of the call (address, block. or coordinates), the nature of incident, and any data on outcomes of incidents (for example, whether the call resulted in an arrest or summons). Those calls should include 9-1-1, police radio, and non-emergency lines. We are requesting data from January 1, 2020 to the day this request is processed by your IT department.
If this request is unclear, we ask that you contact us for clarification rather than denying our request outright. We further ask that if certain information cannot be shared that you fulfill our request in part rather than denying it in full, and explain the reason (relevant statute and code section) for withholding any information.
If records are digitized (i.e. they exist in database or spreadsheet form) we ask that data be supplied in digital form rather than via hard copies.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 7 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
Purbita Saha

All OPRA requests must be submitted to the Township Clerk's Office, not the Police Tip line. This can be done on line through the Township website.
