To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to Montana Public Records Act, Article II, § 9, I hereby request the following records:

I am requesting a list of all of the National Rifle Association's lobbying expenditures in Montana from January 1, 2013 to March 14, 2017 that list "Starboard Strategic Inc." as a vendor. The list should include the amount of the expense, the type/purpose of the expense, and the the date of the expense.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I would request your response within ten (10) business days.

I no longer work at the Secretary of State’s Office. You should contact the SOS office directly.

As an aside, it looks like you are looking for lobbying records, you may want to check with the Commissioner of Political Practices.

I am in receipt of your public records request regarding the National Rifle Association’s lobbying expenditures. In Montana, those expenditures are reported to the Commissioner of Political Practices, which is a different agency of state government than the Secretary of State’s office.
