Pursuant to the Alabama Open Records Law, I hereby request the following records:

I am a producer with a documentary television series for SundanceTV and I am reaching out to put in a public record request for any and all 911 calls made in the early morning hours on December 13, 2020 related to the shooting that took place at 901 Rosedale Avenue in Prichard and resulted in the death of Jaheim Pugh (aka Bella Pugh) and the injuries to two other people.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days.

Sincerely,

André Natta, a citizen of Alabama, in coordination with Rob Vernier.

Good Morning,

I received your request for records and unfortunately without a subpoena I can not release any recordings unless the person who made the phone call is making the request. We follow the Alabama State 911 Board’s policy regarding releasing recordings. Below you will find the link to their website stating the policy.

Hi Jordan,

Thank you for responding to my request.

Is there a reason why redacted versions of the calls and/or CAD reports cannot be disclosed?

Best,

Rob Verner

From: Mobile County Communications District 9-1-1 Center

CAD Reports would have to be requested from the responding department. In Mobile we are a little different in that 9-1-1 is a separate department from the police, fire, ems, etc. 9-1-1 gets the initial call and depending on the needs/location will transfer to the correct department. CAD reports belong to those departments so I do not have the authority to release them.

As for releasing recordings we require a subpoena or the person who made the call to request because the recording is considered to be that person’s property. I do not have the ability to redact information from a recording.

Hope this helps.
