Pursuant to the Virginia Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

- Contracts with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and/or the U.S. Marshals Service for the housing, safekeeping and subsistence of federal detainees.
- Monthly invoices created by your office for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to comply with such contracts. I request copies of these invoices dating from January 2015 to the present.
- Any written requests for modifications to the contract by either party to the agreement, from January 2015 to the present.

This request is being made for the purposes of newsgathering for MuckRock.com and all records released will be processed and analyzed by a representative of the news media.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Under section §2.2-3704 (A) of the Code of Virginia, the Freedom of Information Act provides citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia, representatives of newspapers and magazines with circulation in the Commonwealth, and representatives of radio and television stations broadcasting in or into the Commonwealth, with the right to request public records.

Please forward a copy of your driver's license showing proof of residency in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Once your proof of residency is received, the time allowed to process your request will begin and we will provide you with an estimate of cost.

Please note, the information you seek will require employees to research for specific information that shall be released under FOIA. If the document(s) do not exist in the manner you have requested, they will not be created. The costs for producing these documents will include the hourly rate of staff researching and/or redacting these documents. Any FOIA request that exceeds $200 will require a deposit up front, pursuant to Virginia Code Section §2.2-3704(H).
