Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

Official LAUSD documents which displayed the School Site Crisis Team and their protocols at Venice Senior High School for years 2006-2007 and 2014-2015. This should include the full group's names, titles, contact information. This should also include according to like documents days this team coordinated or met to train on School Site Crisis Team ("SSCT") protocols.

I also request the full official LAUSD contact directory for all Los Angeles School Police Department staff for school years 2006-2007 and 2014-2015.

I also request for all sports teams, classes, clubs at Venice Senior High School years 2006-2007 and 2014-2015 travel arrangement/planning as provided to parents and staff. This should include bus routing documents, transportation vendor plans, both nationally/internationally, prospective or actual.

In addition I request for years 2006-2007 and 2014-2015 all school bus routes with origins/ stops for transport of any individual being transported to or from Venice Senior High School or Venice Skills Center located nearby.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

This email is in response to your California Public Records Act (PRA) request. Your request will be reviewed and the appropriate departments contacted to determine if disclosable records relevant to your request exist.

As required under California Code section 7922.535(a), the Los Angeles Unified School District (District) will make a determination within 10 days as to whether or not a request is seeking records that are publicly disclosable and, if so, to provide the estimated date that the records will be made available. There is no requirement for a public agency to actually produce the records within 10 days of receiving a request, unless the requested records are readily available. Still, the District prides itself on always providing all publicly disclosable records in as timely a manner as possible.

Pursuant to California Government Code section 7922.535, the District is permitted to extend the date for responding under the following specified circumstances:

1. The District needs to search for and collect the requested records from field facilities or other establishments that are separate from the office processing the request.

2. The District needs to search for, collect and appropriately examine a voluminous amount of separate and distinct records that are demanded in the request.

3. The District may need to consult, which shall be conducted with all practicable speed, with two or more components of the agency having substantial subject matter interest therein.

4. The District may need to compile data.

In this regard, an extension is needed regarding the above-highlighted number(s). The District will respond to your request no later than the close of business on August 14, 2023, with an estimated date and time that responsive documents will be made available.

This request is denied pursuant to Government Code section(s) 7922.000 which states: An agency shall justify withholding any record by demonstrating that the record in question is exempt under express provisions of this division, or that on the facts of the particular case the public interest served by not disclosing the record clearly outweighs the public interest served by disclosure of the record and The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act ("FERPA") (20 U.S.C. §1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of students.

Pursuant to Government Code section 7922.540, subd. (b) that Rameses Arias, Senior Paralegal, Public Records Act Unit, is the person responsible for the redactions.
