To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

The annual pay of every sworn employee of the Los Angeles Fire Department for every year from 2008 to present. Along with the year, each employee's name, position, regular pay, overtime, other pay and total pay should be released. I request this data as an electronic spreadsheet file.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Hello Mr. Welsh,

We seem to have communicated past each other. I sent you our response via
NextRequest on May 14, 2019 (please see below). On May 22, you emailed me
from the LA Times and asked to discuss. I then left you a voicemail on your
office number 213) 473-2624.

As an FYI, we prefer communication thru NextRequest as it is the official
process for processing CPRAs and keeps everything in one reference
location.

My office number is (213) 978-7496 or else you can respond to this email.

Thank you.

Dear Mr. Welsh:

This letter is in response to your California Public Records Act request,
dated May 8, 2019, regarding:

- Salary data for all sworn employees of the Los Angeles Fire Department
for each of the last 10 years. The released data should include the
employee's name, position, pay, overtime and all other pay columns for each
year.

Please be advised that of data being requested, the only readily available
data is from 2015 onward. Data prior to 2015 will require custom
programming to extract, a process that will take two weeks to complete at a
cost of $300.

Should you wish a custom report, please send a check payable to the City of
Los Angeles, in the amount of $300, to:

Office of the Controller

Attn: Kevin McNeely
