FOIA - Shared Mailboxes (email) (Information Technology, Nevada)

Thank you for your interest in public records of the City of Las Vegas. Your request was received on 11/13/2022 and is being processed. We will respond within five business days by providing one of the following:



1. We will complete the request by providing the requested records,

2. We will provide you with the estimated date of completion of your request,

4. We will ask for clarification if your request is unclear,

5. We will direct you to the City’s website to access the records requested, or

6. We may deny the request because no responsive records exist.


Record Requested: To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Nevada Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

A CSV export of your agency's Shared Mailboxes (see https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/admin/email/about-shared-mailboxes?view=o365-worldwide for more info ) including the following parameters for every shared mailbox:

- Primary SMTP Address
- Date Created

A simple way to retrieve this is by having a member of IT (such as a System Administrator) run the following command in Exchange Online PowerShell (if email is hosted in a Microsoft Exchange environment):

Get-Mailbox -ResultSize Unlimited -RecipientTypeDetails SharedMailbox | Select Name,PrimarySmtpAddress,WhenCreated | Export-CSV -Path .\SharedMailboxes_$((Get-Date).ToString('MM-dd-yyyy_hh-mm-ss')).csv

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

The status of this request shows that it was closed as a duplicate request.  After researching the issue it appears this request is a duplicate of request number W048389-111322 from email requests@muckrock.com, which was denied by the city attorney on 11/30/2022.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Jim Lewis, in the City Attorney's office, via the original request.
