To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act., I hereby request the following records:
Court records, filings, recordings and/or transcripts related to the charges against and conviction of Jerry Lee Fletcher (DOB MAR 22 1942) in 1973-1974 for the murder of Shirley McCune and related charges.
The case was filed as a burglary in 1973 then upgraded to murder in 1974 when additional evidence was found. I was unable to locate a case number for the initial file.
People of the State of Illinois v. Jerry Lee Fletcher, and subsequent appeal 40 Ill. App. 3d 537 (Ill. App. Ct. 1976).
I request that I be properly classified as a news media requester. I am a documentary producer for MS Productions, and I am requesting this information in that editorial capacity.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, if possible.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response.

Hello:
This email is in response to your below Freedom of Information request. The Illinois State Archives only has Supreme Court records up to 1974, so any case appealed to the court after that, like this case would have been since it was heard in the appellate court in 1976, can be found at the court itself.
I hope this information is useful to you.
Sincerely,
Dave Joens
