Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140/1 to 11), I hereby request the following records:

I am requesting a database of all lobbyists registered in Illinois from Jan. 1 2020 to the current data. I also am requesting a database of all expenditures for lobbyists registered in Illinois.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

I request the entire database, including all fields and any documentation necessary to interpret the data. If there are fields that you cannot release, please provide all other fields.

I frequently deal with large data sets. I can accept the data in many formats and on multiple media. I’d be happy to talk with your database administrator to figure out the best way to format the data.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Thank you for reaching out. This email acknowledges receipt of your below request under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140/1 et seq. (FOIA), by the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office (ILSOS) on April 18, 2023.

Given that your request requires consultation with several departments within ILSOS, we will utilize a 5-business day extension to respond pursuant to Section 3 of FOIA (5 ILCS 140/3(e)(vii)). This extension brings our response due date from 4/25/2023 to 5/2/2023.

Should the records be located and compiled sooner, we will send them to you as soon as possible.
