Pursuant to Florida's Sunshine Law (Fla. Stat. secs. 119.01 to 119.15 (1995)), I hereby request the following records:
I am requesting a copy of any ordinance that references a lifeguard requirement for the City swimming pool.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I would request your response within ten (10) business days.

The Parks director mentioned that there was an Ordinance mandating 2 lifeguards to be on duty at all times at the City Pool at our last meeting on May 9th. Unfortunately, she was misinformed. The City of Freeport does not have an Ordinance, Resolution or even a vote in meeting minutes regarding lifeguards. I have had our receptionist go back to the year the pool was build and there is nothing in regards to lifeguards.
