Pursuant to Florida's Sunshine Law (Fla. Stat. secs. 119.01 to 119.15 (1995)), I hereby request the following records:
1. Information and data on a drug trafficking operation in the late 70's, early 80's operating out of Vero Beach, Florida, pertaining specifically to illegal drugs flown from the Bahamas into the Vero Beach, Florida area by private aircraft and then flown by the same aircraft into the Ocean City, Snow Hill,Maryland (Worcester County) area.
The aircraft used for this trafficking operation may have been registered in Vero Beach, FL. or Ocean City or Snow Hill, MD.
The individual who was the alleged leader of the trafficking operation is believed to have been originally from the Ocean City, MD. area. But was possibly considered a Florida resident during this trafficking operation.
Eventually, the trafficking operation was shut down and the leader of the operation and a couple of his associates were incarcerated.
2. A copy of the Brechner Center's Open Government Pledge signed by the Florida Dept. of Law Enforcement Commissioner, Rick Swearingen if available.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public.
