Hi there

A message is now available for you to see for records request #19-1265:

Good afternoon,

IDOT has the information on the pedestrian stops.  Is it possible for you to get the information directly from IDOT, like you did the traffic data?  They have the ability to pull the infomation the same way, versus us having to get the sheets to you.

Thank you for getting back to me about this. I emailed IDOT today for the pedestrian stop data. I will go ahead and consider this request closed so that your office can move on to other requests. However, I might send a similar request in the future because the data that IDOT sent me for traffic stops does not include the officer name and badge number. I am hoping that I don't encounter the same problem with the pedestrian stop data from IDOT. To some extent, I feel that the officer name and badge number is relevant to a thorough analysis and in the public's interest to know, which is why I initially requested the sheets.

It is my hope that the Evanston Police Department will add all of the information that is required to be reported to IDOT on the these forms to be included in the data that is provided on the EPD dashboard website. I think doing so will improve transparency and better inform the public.

Thank you again for your response. I consider this request closed.

Best regards,
Austin Spillar
