To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

Any service disconnections to DWSD residential and commercial customers because of a break or leak in a water main or service line, rather than for nonpayment, in 2017 and 2018.

If possible and available I request the zip code where these service disconnections took place.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Sarah Alvarez

Sara,

We have received your request. Here's what we have the capability of providing, please confirm:

1. We can pull a list for water shuts for nonpayment.

2. We should be able to pull a list for water main breaks.

3. As far as service lines go, we can pull a list of service disconnects. This would encompass the physical separation of the service line from the stop box or the water main. It wouldn't necessarily cover just service line breaks and/or repairs. Would this suffice?

Take care,
