Pursuant to the Texas Public Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
All communications (email, SMS, written) which mention or refer to the Dallas Police and Fire Pension System. Please limit the search to the date range 1/1/13 - 12/31/15.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

I have been assigned to respond to you PIA request received on April 24, 2017 and seeking "All communications (email, SMS, written) which mention or refer to the Dallas Police and Fire Pension System." You include a date range of 1/1/13 to 12/31/15.
Please be advised that the Dallas County District Attorney's Office, as a county agency, has no relationship with the Dallas Police and Fire Pension System. The Dallas Police Department and Dallas Fire Department are agencies of the City of Dallas not Dallas County. The Dallas County pension system is separate from the Dallas Police and Fire Pension System.
Pursuant to Section 552.222 of the PIA, I am seeking clarification of your request as follows:
1. Please clarify what you mean by "SMS" communications.
2. "All communications . . . which mention or refer" is overbroad. Please clarify the substance of the communications you are seeking; for example, are you seeking communications related to criminal investigations or cases relating to the pension system?
3. Please clarify any individuals or categories of District Attorney's Office personnel related to the communications you are seeking . The Dallas County District Attorney's Office employs approximately 300 Assistant District Attorneys as well as Investigators, Administration, and Support Staff. Any communication from any member of this Office related to any mention of the Dallas Police and Fire Pension System is overbroad.
Please be advised that pursuant to section 552.222 of the Public Information Act, this Office is not required to respond to your request until it receives clarification in writing. Tex. Gov’t Code Ann. § 552.222 (West Supp. 2015). Further be advised that if you fail to provide clarification in writing within sixty days, this Office will consider your request to have been withdrawn. Id.
