Equitable sharing agreement and certification letters for (Dallas, TX Police Department)

Pursuant to the Texas Public Information Act , I hereby request the following records:

Copies of the "Equitable Sharing Agreement and Certification" forms submitted for the years 2009-2013 to the Department of Justice. The DOJ requires any law enforcement agency that participates in its equitable sharing program for asset forfeiture proceeds to submit these forms on an annual basis.

I request that all fees be waived first and foremost because I am a journalist -- employed by MuckRock and the Boston Globe -- and intend to use any pertinent information I receive as a result of this request to educate the public on the DOJ's equitable sharing program.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days, as the statute requires.

It has now been more than two months since I submitted the below request, which was assigned reference number #2014-7353. I was told that Gracie Johnson was handling the request and would contact me as soon as possible regarding the request. I was hoping to receive an update on the request, specifically an estimate of when i can expect to receive responsive documents.

I apologize for being so brusque, as I'm sure that you're all quite busy. The only reason I'm so anxious is that I'm scheduled to publish an article soon regarding the equitable sharing programs of various police departments and Dallas is one of only three cities for which I don't yet have the equitable sharing forms.
