To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the California Public Records Act (California Government Code §§ 6250), I hereby request the following records:
The city of Cupertino receives requests for building permits. The city provides online templates which allow for search of these records, however, not the data itself. I would like the data, likely in a spreadsheet form, that powers this database: http://184.108.40.206/WebLink/Search.aspx - records of building permit applications for the years 2000-2018.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.
Good morning Mr. Miller,
Building permits can be found online here<http://220.127.116.11/weblink/Browse.aspx?startid=34550>. It seems like you weren't going far enough into the document folder structure to the actual document.
Per the Public Records Act, a local agency has no duty to create a record that does not exist at the time of the request.
Please contact the Building Department directly at 408-777-3228 if you need additional assistance in finding a particular building permit.
