From: Jordan Lassiter

Dear Ana Diaz,

I am writing in response to your letter dated March 6, 2023, regarding my FOIA request N013429-030523. I appreciate the extension of time to respond to my request, but I disagree with the reasons stated for the extension.

As per 5 ILCS 140/3(e), a public body may extend the time to respond to a FOIA request by up to 5 business days for a limited number of reasons. However, the reasons you provided for the extension do not fall under the stated provisions. The reasons listed are vague and do not provide specific details as to how my request qualifies for an extension. Therefore, I respectfully request that you provide me with more detailed reasons for the extension, as well as any legal references to support your decision.

In addition, I would like to inquire about how I can limit the scope of my request to make it more manageable. I understand that my request for computer logs and firewall block lists for a period of two years may be unduly burdensome, as it requires the collection of billions upon billions of lines of responsive data. I am willing to narrow down my request to more manageable proportions, but I would appreciate your guidance on how to do so.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.

Sincerely

Jordan
