Chicago Public Schools (CPS) responds to all public records requests in accordance with the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), 5 ILCS 140/1 et seq.

RESPONSE: The CPS FOIA Office has reviewed your request and has determined that the EOCO records you seek are exempt from disclosure under the following provisions of the FOIA:
Section 5 ILCS 140/7(1)(f) exempts records used as factual information inextricably intertwined in predecisional processes. Section 7(1)(n) of the FOIA exempts from release “Records relating to a public body's adjudication of employee grievances or disciplinary cases; however, this exemption shall not extend to the final outcome of cases in which discipline is imposed.” Section 7(d)(iv) of the FOIA which exempts confidential information furnished only by the confidential source, or persons who file complaints with or provide information to administrative, investigative, law enforcement, or penal agencies. You have a right to have the denial of your request reviewed by the Public Access Counselor (PAC) at the Office of the Illinois Attorney General. 5 ILCS 140/9.5(a). You can file your Request for Review with the PAC by writing to:
