Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act., I hereby request the following records:

A CSV export of your agency's Shared Mailboxes (see https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/admin/email/about-shared-mailboxes?view=o365-worldwide for more info ) including the following parameters for every shared mailbox:

- Primary SMTP Address
- Date Created

A simple way to retrieve this is by having a member of IT (such as a System Administrator) run the following command in Exchange Online PowerShell (if email is hosted in a Microsoft Exchange environment):

Get-Mailbox -ResultSize Unlimited -RecipientTypeDetails SharedMailbox | Select Name,PrimarySmtpAddress,WhenCreated | Export-CSV -Path .\SharedMailboxes_$((Get-Date).ToString('MM-dd-yyyy_hh-mm-ss')).csv

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Dear Jake Ader, This correspondence is in response to the Freedom of Information Act ("FOIA") request received by the City of Chicago Office of the Mayor on November 02, 2022. The Office of the Mayor took a 5 business day extension to your request on November 9, 2022. Please find the attached records responsive to your request. We have redacted certain material pursuant to Section 7(1)(b) of FOIA.  That section exempts “private information, unless disclosure is required by another provision of this Act, a State or federal law or a court order.”  5 ILCS 140/7(1)(b).  Section 2(c-5) defines “private information" as:

unique identifiers, including a person's social security number, driver's license number, employee identification number, biometric identifiers, personal financial information, passwords or other access codes, medical records, home or personal telephone numbers, and personal email addresses. Private information also includes home address and personal license plates, except as otherwise provided by law or when compiled without possibility of attribution to any person.

5 ILCS 140/2(c-5).  The material we have redacted under this section is access codes.  The mailbox plan column appeared to contain access codes for these shared mailboxes.  Because these items are specifically exempted under Section 7(1)(b), they have been properly redacted.
