The purpose of this letter is to seek clarification regarding your Public Records Act request referenced above.

In order to locate records regarding an individual offender in our systems we need their full legal name and date of birth. Their CDCR number will also suffice. Can you provide either of these?

Your clarification will assist CA Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in determining whether your request seeks copies of disclosable records in CDCR’s possession.

You may provide a response to the CA Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation through the CDCR PUBLIC RECORDS PORTAL.

Sincerely,

CDCR DCS PRA Request Team

CA Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation cannot decide whether the request seeks copies of disclosable records in the possession of the CDCR because we do not have sufficient information. A request for clarification was provided previously and either a response was not received or the response was not sufficient to determine the availability of responsive records. Absent clarification, the request does not reasonably describe an identifiable record in the possession of CDCR (Gov. Code section 7922.530(a)).

Upon receipt of clarification, CA Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation will promptly decide whether the request seeks copies of disclosable records in the possession of the CDCR, identify any applicable exemptions, and provide the number and cost of any non-exempt responsive records.
To respond with clarification or if you have any questions, you can manage your request through the CDCR PUBLIC RECORDS PORTAL.

Sincerely,

Chris Capineri
