From: Department Of Financial Protection And Innovation

Dear Sam Brownell,

The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation ("DFPI") acknowledges receipt of your Public Records Act request for records received July 25, 2023.

You have requested: "The current field of memberships of all credit unions that you regulate."

The DFPI conducted a search of its available records and determined that your request does not reasonably describe identifiable records as per the Public Records Act (See Government Code § 7922.530). If there are specific entities about which you would like to inquire, you may narrow your request so that we can assist you in identifying and providing records, if any, that are responsive to your request.

However, in considering the narrowing of your request, please note that that DFPI does not maintain copies of an entity's bylaws after an entity is approved for formation, and the approval of the Commissioner is not required for an entity to remove a field of membership. Therefore, (1) DFPI may have no record of a particular entity's "most recent field of membership", or, (2) if a reasonably identifiable record does exist, it may not accurately reflect the entity's most recent or actual field of membership.

If you have any questions regarding this response, please contact me at (916) 738-2517, or anne.nguyen@dfpi.ca.gov<mailto:anne.nguyen@dfpi.ca.gov>

Sincerely,

Anne Nguyen
