Dear Sir/Madam:

Under the Alabama Open Records Law § 36-12-40 et seq., I write to request a copy of any and public records related to the June 19, 1986 incident involving Charles Braswell Pridgen at or near 2420 10th Avenue N., including, but not limited to: investigative reports, witness statements, photographs, video recordings, any and all documents created and/or received from third parties, polygraph test participants and results, tips received, and any other related materials.

If your agency does not maintain these public records, please let me know who does and include the proper custodian's name and address.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as we believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage. All of the information received will also be shown on uncovered.com/cases.

In the event there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by email attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

I would request your response within ten (10) business days.

If you deny any or all of this request, please provide a written explanation for the denial, including a reference to the specific statutory exemption(s) upon which you rely, and notify me of the appeal procedures available to me under the law. Also, please provide all segregable portions of otherwise exempt material.
