WABE on Cuts to GPB (Atlanta Educational Telecommunications Collaborative)

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Georgia Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

Under the Georgia Open Records Act § 50.18.70 et seq., I am requesting copies of documents, emails, and other correspondence between executives and members of the board of directors of the Atlanta Educational Telecommunications Collaborative, doing business as WABE, related to cuts to Georgia Public Broadcasting’s FY24 state funding .

Also, any related correspondence between WABE and members of the state legislature or Gov. Kemp's office.

The time period is between March 1, 2023 and April 2, 2023.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Atlanta Educational Telecommunications Collaborative is the entity that governs WABE. The station is licensed to the Atlanta Public Schools but APS says "Atlanta Public Schools has reviewed its files and has determined there are no responsive documents to your request. APS does not manage or control documents related to the AETC. You should reach out to that entity with this request for information."
