From: Robert Delaware

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the California Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

Any information regarding the total number of active unidentified deceased persons cases ("John Doe" or "Jane Doe" cases) that the Alpine County Sheriff's Office is currently responsible for, dating from the earliest possible case on record, to the active case opened the closest of the date that this request is received.

Sheriff Tom Minder is both Sheriff and Coroner: https://www.alpinecountyca.gov/204/Sheriff

Please conduct the broadest possible search for any information (excel files, PowerPoint Presentations, Word documents, PDFs, email correspondence with the DOJ's NamUs program, CJIS correspondence, NCIC correspondence, etc.) that would help to definitively state the total number of unidentified deceased persons that the Alpine County Sheirff's Office is responsible for. If the number is zero as of the date the this request is received, then publicly state this.

I research missing and unidentified person cases as a hobby, and I am curious to know if California's smallest county has any active unidentified deceased cases.

Thank you for the Alpine County Sheriff's Office for their commitment to transparency, and I look forward to learning this information.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 calendar days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Robert Delaware
