Florida Sunshine Law Request: Body-Worn and Dash Camera Footage – Arrest of Alexis T. Trent (April 25, 2024)

Pursuant to the Florida Sunshine Law, I hereby request the following records:

Pursuant to the Florida Sunshine Law, Chapter 119, I respectfully request copies of all body-worn camera (BWC) and vehicle dash camera footage related to the arrest of Alexis T. Trent (DOB: 12/31/1969) on or about April 25, 2024 near 4000 Sombrero Boulevard, Marathon, Monroe County, FL.

Specifically, I am requesting:

All body-worn camera footage recorded by any Monroe County Sheriff's Office personnel during the initial stop, field sobriety testing, detention, arrest, and transport of Alexis T. Trent.

All dash camera footage from any patrol vehicles involved in the stop, detention, or transport.

Please include footage captured shortly before, during, and immediately after the incident. I understand the listed booking time is 9:54 PM; therefore, I request responsive footage from approximately 8:30 PM to 11:30 PM on April 25, 2024.

If portions of the requested footage are exempt or confidential, please produce the non-exempt portions and cite the specific legal exemptions justifying any withholding or redaction.

I am willing to pay any reasonable fees for duplication and labor but request notification if the costs will exceed $50. Please provide the requested records in an electronic format if possible.
