Good morning,

Thank you for your request. Due to the limited availability and present work demands of the Department of Elections’ personnel, the Department will take up to seven additional workdays to provide a response to your request pursuant to § 2.2-3704(B)(4).

The Virginia Department of Elections.

From: Virginia Department of Elections

Good afternoon,

Thank you for your requests. Attached are estimates for your three requests.

Please note, for request A and B, item "viii" of this request lists the Virginia Department of Elections (@elections.virginia.gov) as a search term. This term resulted in a very large number of potential records which will need to be reviewed as you are requesting all emails from the requested Department of Elections officials to anyone at the Department of Elections over the course of a year. This search term alone accounts for 3,425.8 hours at a cost of $111,990.49. A search of the terms listed in your request, without the Virginia Department of Elections, greatly reduces the time and cost of this request to 21.4 hours for a cost of $700.66.

For request 2, if you wish, we can send the state data-sharing agreements between ELECT and other states for no charge. If you would still like to receive all records, including all correspondence regarding these agreements, the estimate is attached.

For request 3, if you wish, we can send the agreement ELECT has with a non-governmental agency regarding list maintenance data, NCOA, for no charge. If you still wish for all records, including all correspondence regarding these agreements, the estimate is attached.

If you would like to refine your request, please feel free to contact us or send an updated request.

Please let us know how you would like to proceed. If ELECT does not hear back from you within 30 days, your request will be considered withdrawn.

Thank you for contacting the Virginia Department of Elections.
