Dear Mr. Mocek,

The records related to your public disclosure request of October 11, 2011, in which you ask for complaints received by the City of Seattle regarding the Occupy Seattle encampment at Westlake Park are attached to this email. Attachment "Occupy Seattle Complaints" lists the written records we have located in the Mayor's office. The response sent to each of the writers is the following:

"Thank you for writing. I respect the desire by Occupy Seattle participants to create a forum for the public to express their viewpoints. It is our obligation as public officials to insist they do so in a way that complies with the laws and rules, in order to protect public safety. That includes compliance with noise ordinances. The Seattle Police Department uses their discretion based on the situation when enforcing these rules to protect public safety. We continue to make City Hall available, which is an appropriate facility for camping associated with protests.

Thank you again for writing. Please feel free to write me in the future about this or any issue."

I am also attaching records from the Customer Service Bureau and the Parks Department "Mocek PDR PDF". I will now consider your request closed.
