From: Curtis Waltman

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act ("FOIA"), I hereby request the following records:

-The Equitable Sharing Agreement and Certification forms submitted as required to the United States Department of Justice for the years 2011 through 2016.
-Total civil asset forfeiture figures per year for the years 2010 through the date this request is processed.

I also request that, if possible and pursuant to Conn. Gen. Stat. ยง 1-212(d), fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest and not made for commercial gain. The requested documents will be processed by a representative of the news media/press and made available to the public at MuckRock.com.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 4 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Curtis Waltman

Dear Mr. Waltman:

In response to your request for the Equitable Sharing Agreements and Certifications as well as the total civil asset forfeiture figures submitted to the Department of Justice, attached please find 9 PDF documents. I increased the timeframe you were looking from 2016 until 2019 (2020 is not yet available). I was told that the certifications also include the figures for the second part of your request, so there are no additional documents with respect to that portion of your request. If you have any questions, please feel to contact me.
