We’ve launched a new homepage for MuckRock Assignments, our crowdsourcing tool that let’s you contribute your time, expertise, and curiosity to a journalistic investigation.

A little over a year ago, we launched our new Assignments tool to help crowdsource analysis large document sets. Since then, over 1,000 volunteers have helped newsrooms and nonprofits (including MuckRock) analyze over 10,000 pages of documents.

On October 16th, we’ll be co-hosting a webinar along with the The Lenfest Institute for Journalism to discuss the Community Listening & Engagement Fund and how newsrooms can apply to receive a subsidy of up to 75% for Organization accounts for MuckRock and DocumentCloud.

For newsrooms looking to improve their FOIA work, find new ways to collaborate with their readers, or who want to tackle ambitious public records projects, CLEF grants provide an affordable way to get up and running - but only if you apply by Wednesday, October 31st.

We’re excited to announce that DocumentCloud and MuckRock are part of the next round of the Community Listening and Engagement Fund (CLEF). Newsrooms around the country can apply for a subsidy to use our filing, tracking, and analysis tools while developing new ways to involve readers in the reporting process.
