I think you would send or deliver a request to the SMJC President’s office citing the California Public Records Act. As a former employee of the Chancellor’s Office in Sacramento I can assure you that it would not have the records you seek. If you need help following up on the issue, depending on what it is, you can work with the: Student Government, Board of Trustees, or Academic Senate. All at the Santa Monica level.
https://www.reportlineweb.com/Welcome.aspx?Client=smc “Santa Monica College’s web reporting system is a confidential and anonymous solution for reporting illegal and unethical activities in the work place. ”
how would they not keep track of those documents?
Even if the submissions are anonymous, they are not necessarily exempt from release pursuant to a records request.
My point was only that the Chancellor’s Office in Sacramento would not keep the records.
Minor update: It’s been ten business days since I’ve emailed the person in charge of publicity for SMC, and no response. I’ve sent new emails, addressed to SMC’s lawyer, President, and Public Affairs person.
I know SMC contracts with gmail for email, so it definitely didn’t get caught in the spam filter. I will probably sue if this keeps up. Any advice?
