I have received no ackowledgement for a request I submitted more than a month ago in re:: https://www.muckrock.com/agency/united-states-of-america-10/department-of-homeland-security-office-of-operations-3601/

Thank you.

I have no idea about the lack of acknowledgement, just want to let you know that your request will probably be denied as too broad, burdensome, or otherwise unprocessable. DHS, from my experience, requires contract numbers or another unique identifier.

Also, the wording of your request needs to be fixed. “Seeking defense contracts between Dr. Romie Gibley, Sinode Systems and Department of Defense and/or any of its intragencies related to 1310-2 W. Waveland, Chicago. ” This just doesn’t make sense, to be honest. Defense contracts usually refer to DOD contracts, not DHS ones. You then go on to list three entities, but you don’t clearly specify what you want done with them. The DOD has nothing to do with the DHS, so it’s unclear as to why you are about that. “intragencies” isn’t a word, which makes this request even less clear than it already is. Finally, that looks like an address, which is veering dangerously close to falling under the Privacy Act, not the Freedom of Information Act. I think you might want to scrap this request and start another one, with a few improvements. Mainly, you’ll want to clearly state what the type of records you are requesting, and you’ll also want to send an attached DOJ-361 form.

Thank you. How does one get a ‘contract number?’

I think I’ll wait for it to be rejected and then reissue request.

Thanks.

FedBizOpps usually has them. If not there, you might be able to get contracts without one, if you are very specific, and have atleast one unique identifier, ie DUNS, EIN, or name + date.

Thank you.
