Hi Muckrockers,

I submitted an identical request to several county agencies in Illinois for FOIA Logs. All but one approved. The denial states that “it does not meet the purpose and intent of the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.” First, I disagree with that. But is it possible in my appeal to note that similar agencies throughout the state approved the initial request for records? Also, if anyone has tips about appeals, or about appeals in the state of Illinois, I’d appreciate that.

It makes sense to use the other responses in your appeal, I think you have a good chance for a successful appeal here.
