U.S. Officials Response to COVID-19 in the Navajo Nation

In partnership with the Indigenous Investigative Collective and the Native American Journalists Association, we're building investigative journalism infrastructure in Indian Country by supporting networked reporting on COVID-19.

Through FOIA requests, training, and access to a shared data repository, this collaboration is helping newsrooms with Indigenous Affairs units with documents and data that can support long-term investigative reporting and illuminate how state, county, and tribal officials handled the COVID-19 crisis across the Navajo Nation.

The project has [received a grant from the John S. Knight Journalism Fellowships at Stanford University and Big Local News](https://jsk.stanford.edu/news/2020/jsk-and-big-local-news-award-191500-worldwide-to-data-journalism-projects/).
