Pursuant to the Wisconsin Open Records Act, I hereby request the following records:
I am requesting a copy of the contract signed between the University of Wisconsin-Madison Athletic program and the vendor who provided the tournament and services for the 2018 Battle 4 Atlantis Men's Basketball tournament to be held in November 2018. I am also requesting a copy of the final itinerary (if available) and tournament manual (if available) for the trip.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 10 business days.

Dear Requester,
I am writing in response to your public records request of November 5, 2018, in which you requested the following:
* The contract signed between UW-Madison and the vendor who provided the tournament and services for the 2018 Battle 4 Atlantis Men's Basketball tournament to be held in November 2018;
* A copy of the final itinerary (if available); and Tournament manual (if available) for the trip. Access the Public Records Center to download the responsive records.
Note that we are denying your request at this time for the final itinerary for the following reason:
The itinerary is a draft. Under Wisconsin Statute Section 19.32(2), a record under the public records law "does not include drafts, notes, preliminary computations, and like materials prepared for the originator's personal use or prepared by the originator in the name of a person for whom the originator is working." Therefore, the public's right under the records law does not extend to these documents.
You are, of course, free to submit a new request for this document and we will evaluate your request at that time.
The university is required to inform you that to the extent this amounts to a denial of your request it is subject to review by mandamus under Wis. Stat. § 19.37(1)(a) or by application to the attorney general or district attorney pursuant to Wis. Stat. § 19.37(1)(b).

While the itinerary for the trip might be in draft form, the contract itself signed between the Men's Basketball Team and the Battle 4 Atlantis and/or Complete Sports Management should be available as that is not a draft. Can you please send that as it should be readily available.
