Dear Mr. Tidmarsh:

This email confirms receipt of your public records request on 4/8/2020. Your request is attached.

Wis. Stat. 19.35(3)(f) allows our office to require prepayment of fees related to an open records search if the cost will be greater than $5. Wisconsin courts have noted that this statute's purpose "is clearly intended to protect an authority from squandering staff time, supplies and equipment usage for a substantial copying project that a requester might later disavow." (State Ex Rel. Hill v. Zimmerman, 196 Wis.2d 419 (1995)). In order to not squander future "staff time, supplies, and equipment usage" we ask that you prepay for requests.

We estimate that the cost for this request will be approximately $150.

Please remit this amount to the Assembly Chief Clerk's Office. Upon prepayment your request will be fully processed pursuant to Wisconsin law and the procedures of the Wisconsin State Assembly, and a response will be prepared.

If you have any questions regarding your request, please contact our office.

Sincerely,

Steve Fawcett

A fix is required to perfect the request.

From: Christopher Tidmarsh

Hello,

I apologize for the multiple continued inquiries even after you sent me the records. I am using MuckRock to help me file open records requests, and I apparently forgot to mark this request as completed. As such, MuckRock's system was continuing to send you automated reminders about this open records request.

Now that I've marked the request as completed, the system should stop sending you automated inquiries regarding these records.

But if you receive any more inquiries about requests that have already been completed, either for this request or for any others, then please let me know.

In any case, I appreciate you sending me the records I requested, and I also appreciate you letting me know you were receiving continued emails from me about this request.

Sincerely,
Christopher Tidmarsh
