MuckRock News:

An email transmittal was received at the Winnemucca Police Department (WPD) email address of the Administrative Support person on Friday November 6, 2020 which requested in pertinent part that:

“Pursuant to the Nevada Public Records Act,... the following records are requested:

1. New or updated health and safety procedures effective as of March 1, 2020
2. Any and all COVID related training materials
3. Any and all documentation related to the implementation of a mask policy

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.”

A review of the available records was made to determine the existence of the requested records. The responses to your requests follow:

1. There are no records of “New or updated health and safety procedures effective as of March 1, 2020" in the custody or control of the Winnemucca Police Department. There is an inter-departmental memo which was issued in mid-March 2020 which informs the police department personnel of the obligation to follow the applicable COVID directives and guidelines when dealing with members of the public. A copy of that memo is attached. The fee is waived.

2. There are no records of “COVID related training materials” in the custody or control of the Winnemucca Police Department.

3. There are no records “related to the implementation of a mask policy” in the custody or control of the Winnemucca Police Department.

Thanks,

Heather Elder
