Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140/1 to 11), I hereby request the following records:
Any emails, records, and police reports from the Wheeling Police Department referencing the website “4chan” and/or “Holmes Middle School”.
Please include in (but do not limit) your search to emails sent or received by Crime Analyst Veronica Salazar. Her email address is “VSalazar@wheelingil.gov”
Please limit your search to records created after October 1, 2016.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Dear Requestor:
The Village of Wheeling has received your FOIA request and we need further clarification, as parts of your request seem unintentionally broad.
A portion of your request asks for "any emails, records and police reports from Wheeling Police Department referencing website '4chan' and/or 'Holmes Middle School." As this reads, it would require the Village to search all emails that reference in any way (or are from to two staff members) Holmes Middle School. My understanding is that you're looking for communications relating to a specific incident, but would like confirmation of this fact.

Mallory,
I can confirm that I'm seeking all available records related to a specific incident. I am aware that on Oct. 6, 2016, Crime Analyst Veronica Salazar discussed a threat originating from the 4chan website over email. I am investigating this alleged threat to Holmes Middle School. If Wheeling P.D. is able to respond with all of the records related to this incident specifically, I would not need access to anything else related to Holmes Middle School.
