Pursuant to the West Virginia Freedom of Information Act and the West Virginia Open Governmental Proceedings Act, I hereby request the following records:

Any and all files on Joseph Daniel 'Danny' Casolaro (June 16, 1947 – August 10, 1991) was an American freelance writer who came to public attention in 1991 when he was found dead in a bathtub in Room 517 of the Sheraton Hotel in Martinsburg, West Virginia, his wrists slashed 10–12 times. A note was found, and the medical examiner ruled the death a suicide. At the time of his death he was investigation the INSLAW/PROMIS case.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

regarding Joseph Daniel Casolaro, a search has been conducted and the West
Virginia State Police is not in possession of any records of your request.
It is to be understood that this does not mean that the record does not
exist under another spelling, another name, date or under another
classification. However, given the information furnished in your request to
our office, to the best of our knowledge, no such record(s) exist in our
files.

Pursuant to West Virginia Code §29B-1-3, the responsibility of the custodian
