Mr. Jackson Parker:

Re: Response to Freedom of Information Law Request

Dear Mr. Parker:

This will respond to your New York State Freedom of Information Law (“FOIL”) request received by me on June 1, 2022, and follows my initial response to you acknowledging receipt of that request dated June 1, 2022. I am responding to your request as the Records Access Officer of Watervliet City School District. In your request you seek:

Any and all emails, paper communications, phone logs, text messages, receipts, invoices, memorandum, meeting notes referencing or from/to [phone numbers and email addresses used by Jennifer Bennett]….from 1/1/2019 to the date this request is completed.

Please be advised that after search and investigation it has been determined that the District is in possession of over 2,000 records potentially responsive to your request. In order to appropriately review and redact such records (where permitted under the law) it would be necessary to first print such records. Should you wish for the District to undertake this process it will be necessary for you to first remit payment to the School District in the amount of $501.75, which is equal to 2,007 pages of records at $.25 per page. Once payment has been remitted the District could then prepare responsive records, if any, and provide the same to you. In the alternative, you may wish to consider revising your request to include more specificity (keywords/topics/etc.) and/or provide for a narrower period of time.

Any appeal of this decision should be made within thirty (30) days, in writing to the District’s Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Donald Stevens. Dr. Stevens can be contacted at 1245 Hillside Drive, Watervliet, NY 12189 or by electronic mail at dstevens@vlietschools.org.

Sincerely,

Bernadette Boardman
Records Access Officer
Watervliet City School District
