Pursuant to RCW Ch. 42.56 (Public Records Act), I hereby request the following records:

All policies, procedures, memorandums of agreements, other memos, directives, communications, occurrence reports, and any other relevant materials regarding the reporting, negotiations, control, aftermath, and general treatment of hostages taken or individuals restrained in a hostage-like manner by individuals detained or under the supervision of facilities maintained under the jurisdiction of this agency, including juvenile, local, and private facilities, if applicable. If additional policies are maintained by other agencies, direction indicating such would be greatly appreciated.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

I am in receipt of your request received via email on October 23, 2015. This request has been given a tracking number PDU-38622. Please refer to this tracking number when corresponding to this request. You have asked for all policies, procedures, memorandums of agreements other memos, directives, communications occurrence reports, and any other relevant materials regarding the reporting, negotiations, control, aftermath, and general treatment of hostages taken or individuals restrained in a hostage like manner by individuals detained or under the supervision of facilities maintained under the jurisdiction of this agency including juvenile, local and private facilities, if applicable. If additional policies are maintained by other agencies, direction indicating such would be greatly appreciated.

I can only gather records that are maintained within our agency, not other agency records. If you are interested in other agencies, you will need to notify them. I will need to do a search for our policies and procedures. An additional 50 business days is needed. You can expect a response on or before January 14, 2015.

I have tried 2 times to send an email with records attached regarding your records request with tracking number PDU-38622 and both emails have been sent back to me. Since these won't send, I will offer the 124 pages on a CD.

To obtain this CD please send a check or money order in the exact amount of $1.77 ($0.79 for the CD and $0.98 for postage). Make payable to the Department of Corrections and mail to the Public Disclosure Unit at PO Box 41118, Olympia, WA 98504. When payment is received the CD will be mailed to you.
