Absolutely any and all materials - including, but not limited to, policies, protocols, forms, reports, spreadsheets, and any other relevant material - related to the use and implementation of the labor of individuals held at for-profit or contracted prison facilities under the jurisdiction of this state. Dear Ms. Lipton:

I acknowledge receipt of your recent public records request received in our office on June 20, 2017. We have assigned this request a tracking number of PRU-47693. Please refer to this number in all future communications with us about this request. I interpret your request as follows:

Any and all records related to the use and implementation of the labor of individuals held at for-profit or contracted prison facilities under the jurisdiction of Washington State. If state law in this area also applies to local jails or federal facilities contracted with a for-profit operator under the jurisdiction of Washington State, you would like those records as well.

If my interpretation is incorrect please let me know.

The Washington State Department of Corrections does not have any private, contracted or for-profit prison facilities under its jurisdiction. Therefore, there are no records responsive to your request. Regarding the portion of your request about local jails or federal facilities, those do no fall under the Department of Corrections. Therefore, you would need to contact the jail and federal facilities directly.

This request, PRU-47693, is now closed. If you have questions about this request you can contact me at erin.skewis@doc.wa.gov<mailto:erin.skewis@doc.wa.gov>.

Sincerely,

E. Skewis
