Re: Acknowledgement of Receipt of Your Public Records Request 16-303 Received September 10, 2016

Dear Stephan Neidenbach:

This letter is to acknowledge receipt of your Public Records Request 16-303 seeking:

Any emails to or from Patricia Hunt that contain any of the following terms in any field; "mercola", "ruskin", "malkan","pbereano@uw.edu","mhansen@consumer.org", "benbrook","carighttoknow","gmwatch", or "bronners" from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2015.

We hope to complete our review of records responsive to your Public Records Request and respond to you by October 11, 2016, however, more time may be necessary.

Your request for WSU records is not confidential. All Public Records Requests are public records. The records responsive to a request may contain names, identifiers, or information about other people (such as employees, former employees, students, former students, or third parties). WSU may send a notice to people named in the records informing them that their name, identifiers, or other information about them will be disclosed under the Public Records Act and provide them sufficient time in which to seek legal counsel to determine whether to file a motion in Whitman County Superior Court to enjoin disclosure. When we send such notices to people named in records, we also provide a copy of the request with the notice.

The University charges fifteen cents a page for photocopies or to scan paper records to create a pdf in accordance with RCW 42.56.120, WAC 504-45-070(1), and WAC 44-14-07003.

Please contact this office if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

At this time, we still believe we can send responsive records by the original date indicated. Depending on how many emails/pages are responsive to the request, it may be a first installment.

Re: Extension of Time -- Your Public Records Request 16-303

Dear Mr. Neidenbach:

We had hoped to complete the review and processing of records responsive to your Public Records Request 16-303 by this date.

However, the processing is ongoing, and due to IT staff having technical difficulties running searches for a variety of reasons and the fact that Dr. Hunt is on sabbatical and has no access to the emails in question, will require additional time.

I anticipate responding to your Public Records Request by October 24, 2016, however, additional time may be required.

Please contact this office if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Re: Response -- Your Public Records Request 16-303

Dear Stephen Neidenbach:

Enclosed is our response to your Public Records Request 16-303 seeking:

Any emails to or from Patricia Hunt that contain any of the following terms in any field; "mercola", "ruskin", "malkan","pbereano@uw.edu","mhansen@consumer.org", "benbrook","carighttoknow","gmwatch", or "bronners" from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2015.

No documents have been withheld under any claim of exemption under the Public Records Act (RCW 42.56). The single article is encrypted so I was not able to combine it with the rest of the documents, but it was an attachment to an email.

This concludes the University's response to your request for public records.

Please contact this office if you have any questions.
