Good afternoon,

I appreciate you getting this information to me. In order to narrow my search and not burden your department, I would like to clarify portions of my request. Regarding "any and all" for the first request, please limit to official documents and policies generated by the Virginia Dept. of Ed within the last two years. Regarding my third bullet, please limit the request to sexual health documents regarding LGBT students generated within the last four years. I hope this will narrow my request, if further clarification is necessary please let me know.

Thank you,

Grace Raih

Ms. Raih,

The document(s) responsive to your Public Records Request No. 17-0108 will go out in the US Mail to you today.

Please note, there are black boxes (redactions) on various pages of the responsive documents. The black boxes may be small or large, depending on the size of the redaction. Also, there may be multiple redactions on a page. Within the redaction(s) is a code that designates the statutory exemption being applied to the redaction. If there are numerous redactions on one page but only one code, the statutory exemption being claimed applies to all the redactions on that page. Otherwise, the code printed within the individual redaction designates the exemption for that redaction.

Provided with the responsive documents to your request or this installment, is a key to the codes. This key identifies the statutory basis for the exemption as well as a brief explanation for why the exemption applies to the redaction. As you review the responsive documents, you will be able to refer to the key to identify the exemption and application to each redaction.

For documents that were withheld, you are receiving a separate log identifying the documents specifically.

We will be producing records to you in installments as they become available. We anticipate the next installment of records will be the week of July 31, 2017. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

Thank you,
Lisa
