From: Sonya Rodgers

To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to RCW Ch. 42.56 (Public Records Act), I hereby request the following records:

Written and electronic communications (including but not limited to: letters, email, memos, position statements, meeting agendas and meeting minutes) regarding the Discover Pass public lands user fee.

I also request that, if possible, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest and not made for commercial gain. The requested documents will be processed by a representative of the news media/press and made available to the public at MuckRock.com. Please fulfill the request electronically, by e-mail attachment if possible or CD-ROM if not, and let me know of any fees that will be assessed.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 5 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Sonya Rodgers

Sonya Rodgers,
This email is both to acknowledge that we have received your public
records request and to make sure that I understand the parameters of the
records that you are looking for so that, 1) I do not overload you with
records that are not relevant to your request and 2) I do not ask
potential record holders to spend time searching for records that are
not needed.

Are you only looking for records related to the Discover Pass for the
time period of conception to enactment of the Second Substitute Bill
5622 (Washington State Legislature)? Are you looking for Discover pass
implementation records after the bill was enacted? Are you only looking
for records related to the "user fees"?
A little more information from you will help us immensely to focus our
records search.

At this time, I also want to let you know that many records and
information on the Discover Pass and user fees are available on-line and
can be found at the following web-addresses:

Washington State Legislature:

SB 5622 2011-12
Concerning recreation access on state lands.

From: Sonya Rodgers

On Sept 12, 2011, Karen Clevenger responded to my request, asking if I wanted only records related to the Discover Pass for the
time period of conception to enactment of the Second Substitute Bill
5622 (Washington State Legislature), Discover Pass implementation records after the bill was enacted, or records related to the "user fees."

I would like to revise my request, to request only records related to the Discover Pass for the time period of conception to enactment of the Second Substitute Bill 5622. Thank you for your assistance.

Thank you for clarifying your request. I anticipate that we will have
the records gathered by October 19th.
