Thank you, could you please give an estimate of when "cataloging' would be completed?

Also could you explain about the appeal process. These records sought are of significant interest to the public.

From: Library of Virginia

The progress of cataloging of Governor's records is heavily dependent upon
personnel and other resources, which can vary according to the LVA's budget
as set by the Virginia General Assembly. I cannot predict when the
cataloging may be completed, but I can tell you that staff are presently
working in the latter stages of the records of Governor Tim Kaine, who was
in office from 2006-2010.

As for the mechanism for appeal, I would refer you to Code of Virginia
2.2-3713
<https://law.lis.virginia.gov/vacode/title2.2/chapter37/section2.2-3713/>.
The Virginia Freedom of Information Council
<http://foiacouncil.dls.virginia.gov/> is also a helpful resource for
citizens; I encourage you to reach out to them if you have any questions
about FOIA or its applications.

Thank you, I will read up on the code.

Given the upcoming presidential elections, is are there any procedures for exemption or expedited processing for public interest purposes?

Is there a chance the governors office still has a copy of the communications?

From: Library of Virginia

I'm afraid there are no exemption procedures.

My guess is that there is very little chance that there would be copies of
the record at the Governor's office, but it wouldn't hurt to check.
