Pursuant to the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

Please provide a copy of any crime/incident report (or similar police reports) in which a person was investigated, stopped, cited, arrested, or charged with violating Connecticut General Statutes § 53-37 (or "ridicule"). This request is limited to reports generated on or after October 1, 2020, through the present date.

I also request that, if possible and pursuant to Conn. Gen. Stat. § 1-212(d), fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest and not made for commercial gain. The requested documents will be processed by a representative of the news media/press and made available to the public at MuckRock.com.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 4 business days, as the statute requires.

​Good Morning,

Please accept this as a response to your recent FOI request to the Vernon CT Police Department. A review of of records reflects that we have not had any arrests for 53-37 on or after October 1, 2020.

Our historical date indicates that we have 7 total arrests that were transferred into our electronic record system. These date back to 2000. Of the seven( 7 )arrests: four (4 )were found guilty, one(1) was dismissed, one(1) has substitute information ( 53a-182) and one (1) was NOLLED.
