To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Vermont Public Records Act, I hereby request the following records:

A copy of any and all contracts (including associated amendments and exhibits) awarded to Sodexo, or any subdivision thereof, for the provision of dining services or other goods or services in any facilities under the purview of the university, including all activities and buildings associated with athletics, sports, dining services, or otherwise. If UVM does not have a contract with Sodexo, please provide the equivalent agreement with the currently employed company.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 3 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Brian Waters

Hello,

On September 21, I submitted a public records request (attached below) to UVM and have not received a response. The request was submitted to the university's Public Records Officer Gary Derr as explained here: https://www.uvm.edu/~gencnsel/?Page=documents.html. The page notes out that Vermont's public records statute requires a response within 3 business days, but I have not even received an acknowledgment. When can I expect to receive a response?

Thank you,
Brian Waters

Hi Sharon, thanks for your response.

I initially submitted my request to Mr. Derr on September 21, and have followed up with him four times before contacting your office. I am sure Mr. Derr is very busy with his duties as VP of Executive Ops. Is there anything your office can do to ensure my request is properly handled?

Thank you,
Brian Waters
