Pursuant to the Vermont public records law (1 V.S.A. §§ 315-320), I hereby request the following records:

Any and all communications, plans, announcements, directives, memos, or any other materials related to the contract expiration of North Lake Correctional Facility in Baldwin, Michigan and the transfer to other facilities of inmates currently housed out-of-state.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Please note your February 22, 2017 request was not received by the records custodian.

Your November 1, 2017 request did not go to my focused inbox so it was not read until today.

In reference to your November 6, 2017 request.

Further clarification is needed.

Your request is very broad is interpreted using the strict language that is in your request “any and all communication… or any other materials related to the contract expiration” it would include inmate inventory forms, tracking sheets of property mailed out, inmate account close out records, etc. This would include hundreds if not thousands of pages of material all that will need to be reviewed to determine if it is exempt, needs redaction, or can be produced in its original form. Any efforts staff take to search for and review records will incur an expense to muckrock.

If you could narrow your request and give me a better idea of what documents you are looking for this would significantly reduce any cost to you.
